To create log work automatically

When I write a log work,

I write down the time taken manually,

and how can this time be calculated automatically?

Also, How can the log work be recorded automatically when the status changes?

For example,

when status changes from "To do" to "In Progress",

is there any function to automatically calculate the time

between log work and :"Done" in "In Progress"?

or Is there any way you can do it the most like the one above?
