We would like to have a custom field like FixVersion where it can automatically get the list of values from the releases. It is requested by our program manager to track what are the tickets that are being proposed for a particular releases.
Is ther anyway we can copy the FixVersion field as a custom field?
E.g. Propose release custom field that are behaves just like FixVersion?
Another way to do it is to create a custom field with list of values that we have to provide list of releases as selection list. But this is not efficient and can be out of control due to increasing releases.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Kent
Yes, you can create a field similar to fix version.
Go to System -> issues -> Custom field -> Add custom filed
then click on advanced and search for version picker type before you create a new custom field.

What if we want a new Custom Version field that would not inherit the release values from the Fix Versions fields, but it maintains its own list of release values. If you create a new custom field of "Version Picker" data type, the new field will be auto-populated with the Project's Fix Versions field values!!

Hi @Srini Chimata - just to be sure if I understood you correctly - you want to create a custom field where the user selects multiple values. A similar type of Fix Version field where we can select multiple module names with the auto-suggest option (this is what you mean by "searchable")?
If yes then You should create a custom field type "multi-select list" and configure it to be searchable. In your case you should follow this Atlassian manual:
Is that the answer to your question?
