copy Select List (single choice) to Component(s)

Edited

I have a custom field that is a Select List (single choice),

When this is selected in Jira Service Desk, I want the selected value to be copied to the Components field in a new, different Software project.

How can I accomplish this?

I've tried adding the {{customfield_10188}} to the components field as an automation within service desk as well as in the end project when an issue is created.

but I cant get it to work.

How do I pick the selected option from custom field, to populate Components?

From the Automation section in the end project the issue is moving in to, make sure that you set a the smart value of your custom field in the Components field to copy.

Also make sure that you check the box to let other rules trigger this rule.

Hi Thomas,

I don't know that this is going to be possible. Maybe with the Additional fields (JSON) section.

There is this open feature request that you can vote for and follow:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-62229

Can you share the rule that you have so far?

Hi John!

I ended up solving this myself with my own automation.

thanks.
