automatic hyperlinks to issues not working anymore?

I am pretty sure that JIRA used to automatically hyperlink issues when they were mentioned in comments/description, for example PROJECTNAME-124 would hyperlink to the corresponding issue. It doesn't do that anymore, I have to go all the way up to the formatting menu and choose the LINK menu? Why is that?? it was such a neat feature?

The "jira.projectkey.pattern" should be "([A-Z][A-Z0-9]+)".
