applications - version page after manual update still shows old version

performed manual update of jira core from 8.5.7 to 8.13.8

the Versions & licenses page still shows 8.5.7 although the bottom of the page has 8.13.8 and the "Plan your upgrade" page shows 8.13.8

how can i resolve this?

Hi Holly,

This is a uneducated guess because you haven't provided enough information for an educated guess. Maybe try starting the right version of the app?

I am assuming that:

• You placed the new installation directory next to the old installation directory and not over the top.
• The app is installed as a service and the systemd script (or whatever) is pointing at the old install.

You could always try stopping all Jira services and then manually starting the newer version. No guarantees this will work; there are still file permission, ownership, etc that can play a role, but it will let you know if the right version can start. Oh, tail the 8.13 logs during startup in case it throws a tantrum.

Alternatively, you could find budget to bring in a Partner. Cheers!
