Receiving errors when creating new tickets

When trying to create a new ticket, we receive the following error:

We can't create this issue for you right now, it could be due to unsupported content you've entered into one or more of the issue fields. If this situation persists, contact your administrator as they'll be able to access more specific information in the log file.

Moreover, when we go to edit an existing ticket, the following message is displayed:

There are no issue types with compatible field configuration and/or workflow associations. The issue type can only be changed by moving this issue.

The two issue types associated with this project are Task and Subtask. Task is selected for both the new ticket and the old ticket we were trying to edit.

There seems to be two different problems here.

First, you can't create issues due to unsupported data.  Could you tell us more about this?  What are the errors in the log file when you try to do this?

Second, on edit, you appear to be trying to edit the issue type and changing it to an incompatible one.  It recommends that you try to move the issue instead.  Does that work?
