When custom field, which type is drop down list, has a lot of values - for egzample: 1000, there is some issues specific for browser:therefore IE7 or IE8, being what it is, takes some time in rendering whole list. It may happen that 'Stop running this script?' message will be displayed - user should choose 'no' and wait patiently.Entering numbers should allow faster entry of version number, but instead the message 'not valid version' is displayed, as or IE8 tries to do two things - load the whole list, and search inside incomplete list entered number. Makes it even slower or sometimes break with timeout.For firefox this happens too but without timeout. Only long time to render list.This cannot be reproduce in Chrome

Rendering drop down list problem

import attachment with http protocol error

Hello,

On JIRA cloud

I am using http protocol to import attachments and running into below issues in th csv file under attachment i have give file path as " http://<server>:8000/testmodule/attachment/335834560/x.txt" i tried with/without double quotes any idea why i am getting the error ? the file can be access anonymously from outside world and does not have any authentication requirement

An exception occurred dealing with attachment 'http://<server>:8000/testmodule/attachment/33583560/x.txt'.
Cannot parse 'http://<server>:8000/testmodule/attachment/33588407/deliq date.docx' as attachment info: Illegal character in path at index 61: http://<server>:8000/testmodule/attachment/33588407/deliq date.docx

We splited data in custom field to two other custom fields. It works for us.

I encountered the same problem and used the traditional renderer instead http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Renderers#ConfiguringRenderers-SelectListRenderer

Personally ithink this is due to the poor javascript performance in ie 7+8 and early ff versions. Chrome is just the best in this area, at least for Jira
