Slack/Jira integration: How do I post comments to issues, from Slack?

In Slack, using the slash command `/jira`, how do I comment on an issue?  I would think it would be something like `/jira PROJ-12 My comment for the issue`

Jeff, what is your endgoal? It is a bit difficult to read from the question. Do you want the Jira end-users to see notifications from Jira about e.g. outages? Or something else? If it is notifications in Jira you have the Announcement Board you can use: System > User Interface > Announcement Banner

You can also add a text gadget to one or more of your dashboards. The text gadget us disabled by default due to an unresolved security vulnerability, but you can turn it on in the plugins administration panel if you feel it is suitable for your instance.
