Is there a way to set a default reporter for a specific issue type in a project?

The use case being that I have two people owning separate areas of a project and thus certain issue types. When an issue is created via email (which is set to pick the correct issue type), I'd love for it to set the reporter on creation.

I'm afraid it can only be done by having different email handlers for each issue type.
