Export an issue details from another application

Hello,

Until now I have exported the issue manually in the form of xml (see picture).
I'm going to write an application so I can automate our work, so I want to ask if there is a solution so I can export the data directly inside my application, e.g. using Resp API, batch file....
For my application I am now using C#

@Tom which JIRA version do you use? 

how did you name your issue types ? "Epic" and "Story"?

Same issue.  Installed, went to map, everything exists in one column and we clearly have epics defined.  Not sure how to get this to work.
