Hi,
I would like keys follow each other for the task, but not for the sub-task. It seem not possible.
I would like to create a new field and to use automate to generate a new key.
Automate has to read the field of the last created task ("M20001" for example), add +1 to transform to "M20002" and then to edite the field of the new task to write "M20002".
Do you aldready done someting like that?
Thanks.
Manu
You can do exact searching on text fields as well but there is always a risk of people entering the details wrong. Typos, different cases etc.
If select list is not an option, you might want to look at label custom field! You can add new fields, use already existing ones and ofcourse search on them.
Have a look at Database Value plugin: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/org.deblauwe.jira.plugin.database-values-plugin

Thanks for answer. I agree that there is a chance that something may be mispelled. Is there anyway to pull the possible options from an external source rather than add them manually inside of Jira?
