Cannot edit CSS using Announcement Banner

Dear Atlassian Community, 

I am trying to edit Status value by adding custom code in Announcement Banner. 

The idea is increase status length in Jira issue view screen.

applied this code to Announcement banner:

However it is seems this approach is not working. Could you please suggest if there are any other options? Thank you!

What "issue dropdown"? Do you mean that the menu breaks? If so, has the page finished rendering when it stops working? Do other parts of the menu still work?

Issuetype drop down where we can Search for Issues.And Other Menu such as Dashboard,Projects,Agile are still working.

After that problem i tried to restart jira which showed me DBCP error.Was it related to this?

It could be. If Jira can't read the database, it might be struggling to work out what is supposed to go on the menu. You'll need to fix that really, as it could be causing all sorts of problems, not just this one.
