Add @Mentions to Custom Field

Hi,

I would to add @mentions to one of my fields. The field type is text field.

Is this possible? How can I mention someone in a field?

Thanks for the answer Jobin. Although now I have another question. Since creating application links is part of the process to use OAuth for authentication, what methods of authorization can I use for OnDemand?
