I'm trying to use the user search to find a user by display name:
Example URL: https://<jira-instance>/rest/api/2/user/search?query=Test
Response:
{ "errorMessages": [ "The username query parameter was not provided" ], "errors": {}}In order to make this work I also have to supply the `username` attribute which defeats the purpose of the user search.
As far as I can tel, this request should work according to the documentation here: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v2/api-group-user-search/#api-rest-api-2-user-search-get
Am I doing something wrong here?
Hi Benedikt,
Thank you for your suggestions and timely response.
While this would work, it feels like a "hack". I think I will stick with our existing solution that addresses this need out of the box. Hopefully, in the near future, Atlassian will consider supporting time capture where the issue is optional. I would love to embrace Tempo and this is the only road-block.
If you would like more information about our workflow and the existing solution we use, please message me privately.
Thanks again for your help, Benedikt.

Hi David,
Would love to have a chat on this. It would be best to get the dialog going in our support project (which is private)
