when I click on add users to role and enter user name, user is not listed.

Hi, depending on which status you are in the moment it will display the buttons of the transitions you are allowed to do. If you don't have permissions to do any transition it won't display any of them.

In the simplified agile workflow (provided by Atlassian) there are no permissions on transitions and hence all transitions are allowed. Does that mean that the buttons are fixed in all statuses?
