I have sucessfully added a custom field to the batched email notifications velocity template(https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/adding-custom-fields-to-emails-batched-notifications-968669988.html).

But I just can't find any documention on how to add the parent issue summary to the batched email notification. Are there any variables available for this (e.g. like $parentIssueSummary)? If so, where can I find a list of the available variables / Information?

Background: we often have similar sub-tasks for a scope-item (task) - e.g. Analysis, Sign-Off, Test, etc. - so it would be helpful to directly see in the email notification to which scope-item (task) the subtask belongs.

Hi Brook,

The page you've linked to is Atlassian's suggestion for a workaround for the problem when it affects JIRA.

You're probably better off asking New Relic, as it's their application that is causing the problem.

I actually went there first. A New Relic technical account manager was unfamiliar with the issue and asked for more information. That's what led me to ask the question. If you don't have further details, that's fine.

Hi Brook,

No, I'm afraid I've got no idea what the actual answer is, I was just trying to point you in the direction of someone who could help. Atlassian support are generally very good about answering things like this though, but after that I'm not sure....
