Automations involving Date Fields

Hello I'm trying to create an automation that relies on a custom field I have created for a date.  For example the date of check out of my hotel is xxx for a room.  When I try to search for the field it just will not come up.  Neither will fields like created date or due date.  Anything to do with date basically doesn't pull up.  Any suggestions?

Ideally, they should be part of the plugin and should be added as a downloadable resource.

Workaround is to add them directly to JIRA_INSTALL/atlassain-jira/images/icons folder.
