Jira service management automation: POST request

I'm trying to create a rule with a sequence of actions to be executed is as follows:

-Issue is created.

-Check for certain condition.

-Wait for approval.

-Send a POST request to an external API.

-Get status response from API.

-Send email to user based on API response.

However, when I try to run the rule the POST request doesn't come to the API and I don't receive a status response either. I tried following the solutions presented in previous similar questions but nothing seems to work.

Anyone here who might've done something like this could help steer me in the right direction?
