Jira filters are not working correct

Paul Edison October 29, 2020

Hi all,

I do have 2 Scrum Boards with filters:

Board1:

project = PROJECT-ID AND component in (TEAM-COMPONENT) and labels not in (PO-Task) ORDER BY Rank

Board2:

project = PROJECT-ID AND component in (SW-Comp1, SW-Comp2, SW-Comp3 ) ORDER BY Rank

There is a Ticket (Problem Report) that does have:
components: TEAM-COMPONENT, SW-Comp1, SW-Comp3
labels: <empty>
no Sub-tasks

The item is only displayed in Board2 but not in Board1.
What is the reason for that behavior? What is wrong with the filters?

Hi Paul,

For Board 1 you have to add OR labels is EMPTY

Not in and Empty are not the same thing in JQL land. So,

project = PROJECT-ID AND component in (TEAM-COMPONENT) and (labels not in (PO-Task) or labels is EMPTY) ORDER BY Rank
