Jira Work Management Workflow

Is there a way to create a workflow status without creating a new column for that status?

I am working with a team that wants to see all IN PROGRESS statuses under that column only instead of having a million columns for their workflow.

Jira Standard has this but how do I do the same in Jira Work Management?

Hi Nikki,

No, that's not possible with the out of the box board that comes with JWM projects. If you add a status to the workflow, then it will create a new column on your built-in board.

You could add a separate Jira Software board and link it to the JWM project, but it would not be directly accessible when you click on the board link for the project. You would need to add a shortcut link to the new board.

Is there a specific reason why it was built this way and could this be a future upgrade?

You would have to ask Atlassian all of those questions.
