JIRA SERVICENOW integration by REST API

Edited
  1. HI Everyone,

In my workplace, Servicenow team started working on integration with Jira using REST API, Servicenow people has documentation where how all tasks should be performed, they almost completed outbound work from their side like mapping the fields creating payloads and they successfully sent a ticket from Servicenow, where the Jira people can work on the ticket and now its the turn for Jira team to integrate with servicenow, we don't have any documentation to perform integration, can anybody please provide us some documentation or it would be helpful if anyone already worked on this integration please share your work.

Thanks

Hello @sai kaushik giddalur

The Exalate app can also provide an integration with the ServiceNow issue tracker. You can synchronize ServiceNow incidents with Jira issues. It is also responsible for translating ServiceNow based information to a common issue format (and the way around).

You can exchange the following data between the ServiceNow incident and Jira issue

  • short summary  summary
  • description  description
  • urgency  priority
  • state  status
  • caller  reporter
  • comments  comments
  • attachments  attachments
  • tags  labels
  • custom fields  custom fields

By the way, It might also be useful to set up a live video discussion. Then we can demonstrate how Exalate would get set up for your use case

Would that be valuable to you? You can book a suitable slot here.

Cheers,

Riddhi

Thank you, Riddhi

Hello Kaushik,

We're working with ZigiWave and their integration platform does support the integration. You can try reaching out to them at https://zigiwave.com/jira-software/ and get a free demo. gl!

Brad

Hello Kaushik,

Basically, the integration between JIRA And ServiceNow can be performed by WebHooks, using the articles below:

Additionally, there's a third-party plugin that performs this integration bidirectionally:

ConnectALL ServiceNow adapter for Jira

Let me know if this is an option for you.

Thank you, petterson.

Hi!

There is an app for this case, getint.io: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1223935/getint-for-servicenow-integration?hosting=server&tab=overview

The app lets you integrate/migrate (apart from obvious things like title, description, and so on):

  • Custom fields,
  • Attachments,
  • Comments,
  • Statuses,
  • Users.

Works bidirectional. The big plus is, that you can install it as both SaaS and on-premise (for any Jira - Cloud, DC, Server).

You can test the app for free, the basic setup takes just ~ 5 minutes.

Here are the docs if you want to read more:

https://docs.getint.io/getting-started-with-the-platform/integration-synchronization/jira-servicenow-integration

Best,

Jacek

Co-Founder of getint.io

Thank you Jacek

Hi @sai kaushik giddalur ,

You can try Opshub Integration Manager – Free Edition that can be downloaded from OpsHub Community Portal. The free edition supports bi-directional integration for Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps Server (TFS), Micro Focus ALM (HP ALM), and Azure DevOps Services (VSTS). All key features of OIM paid edition have been included in the free version. The users of OIM free edition will also get complimentary lifetime customer support through the OpsHub community.

A detailed list of OIM free edition features is available here.

You can also reach out directly to sales@opshub.com for live demo.
