When attempting to upgrade, it says: "Required - current version is incompatible with Jira Core 8.8.0" I can't find online which version to upgrade first before going to the latest version. Should I go with 8.3 to 8.4 until i reach 8.8? Also, do I need to do the same with Jira Service Desk? Thanks
Can you please share some additional information?
You should be able to go from 8.2.1 to 8.8.0. However we will need to check some requirements before the upgrade.
Best,
Fadoua
Thank you for your reply.
I read from this forum that it's better to gradually perform the upgrades 2-3 versions up at a time, performing a backup each time. I used this method because I didn't see anywhere confirming that its okay to just upgrade (manually) to the latest version right away plus it was already complaining that it wasn't compatible (see error on the original post).
To answer your questions:
1.) we are using MS SQL
2.) Yes, checked the plugins/apps compatibility.
3.) we are on Windows OS Server
Also, these links helped me a lot.

I also upgraded everything under Administration > System > Applications every after upgrades. I also noticed along the way that Confluence has to be upgraded along the way.
Thanks :)

Just an FYI, if you were on version 7.x.x then yes you will need around 2 hops. From 7.x.x -> 8.0.0 -> 8.8.0 @Mark Gesite
I am really glad to learn everything is working fine.
Best,
Fadoua
