How to customize EDIT screens separately from VIEW screens?

Greetings,

As I'm playing around with customizing screen layouts, I'm running into an obstacle.  It seems that when you modify a screen layout for "EDITING" (for example organizing fields into tabs), this impacts the VIEW screen as well (the full summary of issue/epic/etc when you click on the issue link).  This is highly undesirable, as the VIEW screen already has a nice layout with many fields (People, Time Tracking, etc) locked into an area, so the extra tab organization is actually hiding information.  For editing - tabs are incredibly useful as they can group information together, but I don't see any way to split up the configuration.

JIRA seems to give me control based on issue "type", but not based on "view vs. edit".

Is there a way to do this??

In your project Screen Scheme, there are 4 different screens that you can configure for "View", "Edit" and "Create" and the "Defaul" screen. You will need to have a different screen for each if you want them to be independent to each other.

Your Screen Scheme is where you configure which screens are used for Edit and which are used for View. You have of course to make 2 screens, so that each function has its own.

Not sure if we can specify create/edit screen for each component?
