Can Jira export folder be purged?

Jira server has exceeded its storage and performance has degraded.
C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA\export

If You have enabled daily backups.

You can move them to another location (Storage) , this can reduce maximum memory allocation.

"\Atlassian\Application Data\Jira\export"

We actually do weekly backups of the entire VM.  

 

can we still proceed to purge or should ad these files to our backup

If you're taking backups another way, then you don't need those exports at all.  Consider turning them off in the general admin so it stops creating them.

If you rely on them as the backup, then you probably only want to keep the latest one.
