Can I create a custom field like the Description field?

Hi:

I'm looking for the ability to create a JIRA custom field that allows for markup like the Description field. Maybe an add-on?

It's built in.

Admin -> Custom fields -> add -> unlimited text

You may need to adjust the "field configuration" though - change the "renderer" to markup.

I use jira 7.5.2 .

I need a field that allows markup like the Description field. (I want the tool bar of desigining the text. like it appears when editing the Description field )
I followed your instructions but I don't have the option markup in the "Renderer".

I only have "wiki style" renderer and when I choose it - it did not change anything.

Despite this is marked as "Solved", I spent quite a few hours trying to understand how to fix this.

Here is 5 minute video which I have created on how to do this.

I hope it helps.

Thanks for making the video, it helped a lot! :)

It hasn't moved.  You log in as an admin, go to the admin interface, select issues then custom fields and click add, which will ask you what type of field you want.

I manage to do it but by changing the renderer to Wiki Style of the new multi-line renderer as shown in the screenshots
