Is there a way to add the "Send mail for this update" checkbox to the edit screen, or when editing individual fields?
Allowing this control to fine-tune JIRA notification messages could increase their usefulness. In my organization JIRA messages are too plentiful as any edit to a ticket sends out an email alert, even for typo corrections etc. As a result very few people pay attention to JIRA notification emails, defeating the purpose. Allowing to only send email for important ticket updates would stem the flow and could raise awareness.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Hello AJ,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
When using Jira, the notifications will be sent according to the configuration on Project settings > Notifications or Project settings > Customer notifications (for Jira Service Desk only).
With that said, it's not possible to add a button or a field to send a notification when some specific field is changed.
As a workaround, you can use an add-on like Email This Issue where it adds an option to send an email directly in the ticket and also has more settings for notifications.
Regards,
Angélica
