Copying from Parent to SubTask

Carlo Gonella November 2, 2021

Hi there everyone.

Environment : Jira Cloud, in a Team Managed Project.

Rule :

when a subtask is created, priority and a custom field called "IT Subproject" values should be copied from the parent Task to the SubTask.

In attachment the rule schema and the error details.

I followed some online tutorials, and everything seems to be right.
Looks like the rule cannot find the parent informations.

The steps I work are :

- Create the TASK, set the assignee, the priority and the IT Subproject, Title, Description

- Create the subtask via " Add Child " button.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Carlo Gonella

Please check if both fields are on edit screen for sub-task issue type.

Regards,

Seba

Tuff one but we will resolve it ;)

Please add new action Re-fetch issue data (link) after condition and see what happen.

Thanks Seba.

It works. Even if when I create the new issue from the "Add Child", it shows the standart values ( unassigned, no subproject, priority high), when I click to see the details, it works perfectly.

Thanks again.

Carlo
