integrate jira align cloud with jira server

What (if any) are the differences between integrating Jira Align (cloud) with Jira (server) compared to integrating Jira Align (cloud) to jira (cloud). 

i have looked in the community FAQ but do not see anything that matches. 

I have integrated JA cloud to Jira cloud, but not from JA cloud to Jira server. is there a document that shares the steps or differences between the two?
