The Community Advisory Board was founded in 2017 to give our Community Leaders a stronger voice on the Atlassian Community team. As we did last year, we wanted to share a bit about this group and take a look back at what they accomplished last year!

The CAB is made up of six Community Leaders, representing different community cohorts including Atlassian Marketplace Partners, Atlassian Solutions Partners, Atlassian Community Events, and Online Community. CAB members serve for roughly 18 months. Over the course of 2021, the following folks served on the CAB:
We had 11 CAB meetings in 2021, and attendees included representatives from Community Management, Community Support, Community Experience (including our developers and designers), Social Care, Atlassian Identity, and the community executive leadership team. Some notable moments:
A partner agency used the CAB meeting time to learn about how the online community and events platform contribute to a holistic community experience for our members, to help chart a course for the future evolution of community
The CAB gave input into the Atlassian Account Switcher and the use cases for community members
The CAB offered feedback on the Atlympics, to be incorporated in the winter Atlympics (coming in February)!
Our UX Designer talked through how question answerers browse, search, and find questions to answer
The CAB met the social care team, now part of the Communiteam family, as well as two new community PMs, Anna and Isaac.
The CAB got to give input on many other community initiatives, sometimes in the design phase, including:
Video content on community
An updated login experience
The kudos beta and upcoming features
Automated leader status emails
The new swag store on Shopify
Points threshholds for leaders
Raising the visibility of the CAB with updates like this one (meta )
