In partnership with the Atlassian Foundation, in December we set out to do good in our local communities with Atlassians around the world, connecting at Atlassian events and donating to charities that are near and dear. And boy, did the Atlassian Community deliver! |
Thank you to all who participated in our Month of Good, please see the amazing results from each initiative:
|
1. Global Week of Good Virtual Volunteer Fair 32 people 💙 attended this event on 10th December and learned about virtual volunteer opportunities from CareerVillage, UPchieve, and Braven, who work to help young people launch successful careers. |
2. Show up and give back
Since Atlassian pledged to donate $10 for every attendee to EVERY Atlassian Community Event in December, after a whopping 3,732 members attended 106 community events globally, we were able to donate $37,000 across the three charities!
In addition, we’d like to highlight two Atlassian Community Events chapters who ran their own Foundation events. The Hyderabad Chapter volunteered with Aadir Kids packing children’s school supplies kits, and the Bengaluru Chapter spent quality time at Gnana Jyothi Foundation orphanage and donated much needed items. A big thank you to the Community Leaders for organizing (@mahboob_sharif @Srikanth Upputuri, @Leela VenkataSatish Kolla, @Vishnukumar Vasudevan, @Girish_Shenoy, and @sandesi_nagaraju) and to those who gave their time and attended 💙
We are looking to do more social impact events at Atlassian Community events in 2025, so if you’d like to get involved, please join our Social Impact chapter to hear about our virtual events, and search for a chapter in your local area to join a group of Atlassian enthusiasts in doing good this year.
3. Meet for Trees
For our latest iteration of Likes for Trees, we wanted to plant a tree for as many actions associated with being a part of our Atlassian Community Events as possible. Enter: Meet for Trees; planting trees for every RSVP as well as for attending any event in December. This resulted in planting 22,511 trees! The region with the highest number of attendance in December was India, and for that reason, we plan to split up this donation across three of One Tree Planted’s reforestation projects in India. We’d love for you to vote for your top choice below, and we’ll plant 10,000 trees for the top choice, 7,000 trees for second choice, and 5,511 trees for third choice. Please cast your vote below! |
