Welcome, Partners - we’re happy you’re here! We want you to have the best experience engaging with our members and Atlassian fans on the Atlassian Community. Be sure to read through our Partner Rules of Engagement, and see the suggestions on this page to help set yourself up for success!
[How to approach engaging as a Partner in our online community] [Setting up your profile] [How to update your profile name] [Request the Partner ‘lozenge’ for your profile] [Requirements to obtain a Partner lozenge]
Our Atlassian community members ask thousands of questions a day about our products and services, which means there are thousands of opportunities to assist and connect with them. However, an authentic connection is a crucial aspect of participating in the community. What does this look like?
It means identifying your target audience, understanding their needs, and finding effective ways to reach out to them. This also means not commenting with irrelevant solutions, excessively spamming external links, or mentioning a company without a clear display of your affiliation. Sound familiar? See our Partner Rules of Engagement for more details.
A lot of engagement with our users on this platform is conducted by answering product-specific or solution-specific questions, and our members value genuine interactions. You can be that trusted, knowledgeable voice in our community by doing the following:
✅ | Identify yourself with a Partner lozenge + individual username (See Setting up your profile section below) |
✅ | Mention your application, solution or service as part of your answer which directly answers a question, and one that is relevant to your app, solution or service. |
✅ | Provide Atlassian resources or other community links that answer the user’s question in-depth. Take the time to explain why this link is relevant to the user, rather than linking with no other details. |
✅ | When posting articles, remember to review and have a coworker double-check before publishing; notifications are resent every time an article is updated, and you don’t want to annoy users with additional notifications when you are trying to entice them to read in the first place! |
✅ | Participate in threads across the community to avoid being a “solely promotional” account. Your app or service is probably related to a specific Atlassian product or industry - and you’ve gained a lot of knowledge in all the tasks and use cases related to it. Join the fitting industry group or product collection and share your expertise! |
Our users would love to see your participation in the Atlassian Community beyond the App Central & Solutions Partners promotional scope, too. Here are some groups and threads to get involved in:
Welcome Center - Every Wednesday, Community Leader @Jimmy Seddon publishes content welcoming new users and providing a positive boost mid-week!

Miscellaneous Monday and Friday Fun: Every week in the Watercooler, a community member publishes miscellaneous content in an effort to engage and connect with users outside of Atlassian-related products.

Add your profile information & update your profile name to show your company affiliation.
Visit id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/profile-and-visibility
Update the Public Name field (the only requirement is for the company name to be represented somewhere in this field)
(Example: Charlie A _Company_. | Charlie A -Company-.) We have found that having an individual or personal user name as well as your company name creates more trust amongst our members, rather than a company-wide user name, like “Company support team”.
If your username does not immediately update, try logging out and back in and you should be good to go!
We differentiate our Partners and members by assigning a lozenge of “Atlassian Partner” visible on your profile. This lozenge associates you with the app or solution you represent. It also gives you the ability to self-publish articles in the App Central and Atlassian Solution Partners groups.
*Note - Adding the Partner lozenge will supersede the Rising Star lozenge if you currently hold it. Similarly, if you join the Community Leader program in the future, that lozenge will supersede your Partner lozenge.
If you haven’t yet gained access to the Partner Portal, you’ll first have to request access via this link and choose Get access to the Partner Portal.
Once you have access to the Partner Portal, you can submit a request for the Partner lozenge, under Partner Marketing Support and Request article writing permission, here.
If you are not eligible to access the Partner Portal, please email communitymanagers@atlassian.com and we can proceed with an alternate process.
