Welcome to the Atlassian Community Kudos program!

What is the Community Kudos program?

In short, it’s a reward system where you can earn badges and points (and sometimes swag and prizes) for participating in activities in the Atlassian Community. We’ve pulled out some of the most important need-to-knows below. You can also read the latest updates at this link.

Am I enrolled in kudos?

Yes! While accessing our Forums on a browser, you should see a count of your Kudos points at the upper right of your screen, and you can click on this to see all the program content.

How does it work?

Our reputation system is called “Kudos". You can complete challenges to earn points and badges for your community activities, and give “peer recognition” Kudos points to other users (up to 10x per week). As you earn points, you’ll grow through a series of levels and compete in quarterly leaderboard challenges.

What about the milestone badges I’ve earned?

All of your achievements can be found under “Badges” on your profile! Open your trophy case to find your Kudos badges, milestone badges from your contributions (eg 5 replies posted; 100 likes received) and learning achievements in one easy place.

What about other the stuff I've already done?

When a new challenge is launched, your activity is not retroactive (in other words, your previous activity on the community won't count towards new Kudos initiatives). This is part of the reason we start one leaderboard over every quarter - no matter when you jump in, you have a chance to hit the top of the leaderboard in any given quarter!

I have feedback!

It’s always a great time to give us feedback on the present and future of the program. Something not working as expected? Do you find anything confusing? Any ideas for new badges you would like to see? Or just want to throw some ideas around with your fellow kudos participants? You can start a discussion anytime using this link.

I have questions about “giving recognition Kudos” to people

The points you receive by completing challenges or through receiving recognitions from other members are added to your overall account and count towards your next level. On top of that, you also have the ability to send recognition Kudos to users individually.

To send a recognition to another member, you can:

  1. Go to the kudos panel, search for the member’s username, and select a reason from the drop-down list.

  2. Hover over another member’s username while browsing Forums and click the “give Kudos for this content” button that appears.

  3. [Coming soon!] Visit another member’s profile to give recognition Kudos directly.

You can find all of the recognitions you’ve received on your profile, and each recognition you receive will add 100 point to your Kudos total. Giving peer recognition to others does not subtract any points from your total, so be sure to recognize your peers when you see great contributions out there!

Wait, where am I right now?

You are reading a post in the Community Contests & Kudos group! Please join the group by clicking this button in the sidebar for regular updates about the program.

If at any point you want to stop watching content, click “Unwatch” in the sidebar. In the meantime, this group is here for all your feedback and questions.

I have other questions.

Post them in the comments or create a new post in the group to discuss. I’ll be here along with the Community Managers to help answer your questions, make tweaks based on your feedback, and announce any major changes or new features.

We can’t wait to hear what you think! Have fun!

Message post for entertainment value only.  I believe I should qualify for 4,338,007 points for having my step-son just hiring on to Atlassain as a developer!

Looks interesting... first time truly using Atlassian products, so hope to learn a lot from those that have been using their tools regularly.

feels like quarterly reset is good and bad, but badges offset the bad, so mostly good I guess
