Hello,
We are moving to Jira Cloud and I would like to know if there is a way to bring users to cloud with out pulling all AD accounts. Can we also migrate only Jira software users to cloud without pulling associated AD stuff. Please let us know.
HI @[deleted]
The migration assistants use email addresses as the key identifier for your users. The first time you migrate, the Migration Assistant will copy all the users from your Server and create Atlassian Accounts for them in Cloud using their email addresses. These users will only be added to your Cloud license if they are a member of a group with license permissions.
I suggest to read User management and migration
Thanks, Dave, for the info.
Please see below the type of users that I see in our user management:
Full name Username Group name Applications Directory
John Doe John Administrators Jira Software Active Directory JDoe@autosoftdms.com
XeroxPshop XeroxPrintshop VPN Users Active Directory
XPTest XPTest Programmers Active Directory
In the above scenario, the first user John Doe is having valid emailid JDoe@autosoftdms.com. This user will get migrated into Jira Cloud.
How can I stop the other two users (XeroxPshop, XPTest) from migrating into Jira Cloud. They are users from active directory server. If I allow these users into cloud it may get created with domain name XeroxPrintshop@autosoftdms,com. But I don't want these two users getting migrated into cloud. Is there any option to stop these invalid active directory users into jira cloud?.
