How to change the status or category color?

With Jira 8.5 I realised, that the color for In Progress is blue instead of yellow. How can I change the color to the same as it was with Jira 7.13: Is there a way?

I have asked the Atlassian Support and got the reference to this Jira: Option to use original status colors (after Jira 8.2+).

After using the first suggested workaround, I can confirm, that it works.
