Hello,
We have an integration between our organization Active Directory and JIRA/Confluence.
We use LDAP for user authentication and internal JIRA directory for groups.
While setting up we chose the LDAP Permission : "Read Only, with Local Groups" because of that all our Active Directory groups are now populated in JIRA groups under User Management. This reveals information about our AD structure and other important internal information in JIRA.
This is of concern for us because JIRA and Confluence is hosted in our partner infrastructure.
Is there any other way such that we can authenticate not only users but also to check to what groups they belong from Microsoft AD itself.
Which means that JIRA specific internal groups are also present in our AD. And user management for JIRA groups is done in Active Directory.
Let me know if any further clarity is needed. Thank you in advance.
With Regards,
Milton Mathan
Hi @Milton Mathan and welcome to our Community!
Please, have a look at the following article:
Reducing the number of users synchronized from LDAP to Jira applications
May this information be of any help to you?
Thank you for the assistance.
I managed to fix it.
The suggestion in the link is correct but a small change needs to be done on the filter syntax.
