SUBJECT
Custom Field to Select From Member's List - Trello

BACKGROUND
In the "Activities" field, when you add a "Comment", there is an "at" symbol (@) that displays a list of members who belong to that board. You can then select one of them. Then if you do it again, multiple users will be added.

QUESTION
Is there a way to "Clone" the "Activities" field and rename it as a custom field? Or, How to add the @ ("at") symbol to a custom field so we can select from the board members list.

GOAL
We want to be able to search (using "jump to") with the custom field name (colon) followed by the user's name, like this -- [FIELDNAME:UserName] We want the custom field to be a list of OTHER members who can be searched as secondary participants. The "Board Member(s)" are those to whom the card is "assigned". And the "Watch" button is not what we need, either.

@Jerry Leventer so you want to be able to find cards not based on member assignment but based on those members having been mentioned by name in a card comment?

For example if I wanted to search in my personal board for any card where I have tagged my wife in a comment I could use:

board:iaindooley comment:"@saraallison3"

If you want to find cards where multiple people are tagged, you just add more "comment:" parameters and they will be combined using "AND" logic (you can also negate by prefixing with a "-" minus sign) eg. I could look for cards where I have tagged my wife and she hasn't replied with:

board:iaindooley comment:"@saraallison3" -comment:"@iaindooley"
