I cannot see the option to create custom fields on my new board

I cannot see the option to create custom fields on my new board

I have a paid subscription and have always had the option to create custom fields in the past, but I have just set up a new board and the option is not available on either the cards or on the board itself.

Can anyone suggest why this option is not showing up?

Seems that my problem related to the set up of a completely separate project on Jira and Confluence. The set up of those two somehow took over my account in Trello and told Trello that it was a free account (so no custom fields).

I was able to get around the problem by setting up a "free" trello account and then switching to my paid trello account.

But seriously?????
