Thanks for reaching out to us! So sorry to hear about that.

1. Could you please let us know if you're using the desktop app?

2. Do you notice things are working better for you in an incognito browser, or is the issue still happening in an incognito browser?

3. Please double-check that you're using a supported browser and that it's fully updated. If you have any updates available, go ahead and process those browser updates now and try to load up your Trello boards to see if that helps.

4. We also want to know if your browser is reporting any JavaScript errors. Please bring up the error console for your browser and repeat the behavior, then copy the text of any errors that arise and send them along.

To bring up the console:

  • Chrome: Cmd+Opt+J (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+J (Windows)
  • Firefox: Cmd+Opt+K (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+K (Windows)
  • Safari: Go to Preferences (Ctrl+,) and enable the "Develop" menu via the "Advanced" tab. Then click on the button on the upper-right that looks like a page, then the Develop menu. Select "Show JavaScript Console".

Hi @Madhukar Limbu - thank you for sharing the screenshot and additional info.

1. Is this happening on all boards, or just one specific board? Can you please share a URL link to the board(s) where you’re noticing this issue with comments?

2. Can other people comment on the board?

3. Are you able to comment on the board while using the mobile app?

Hello @Blair at Atlassian - thank you for your reply.

Answers to your questions:

1. We have only one board. https://trello.com/b/UC7N6ew6/jobs

2. We have admin and 3 members, and none of us can make comment.

3. We tried on mobile app as well but same issue, cannot comment.

Thank you for the confirmation.

Could you please try something for me? Try to create a new board and add a new list, and add a test card. Try to comment on the test card and let me know if you and others are able to comment or if you see the same error in the console.

@Blair at Atlassian - Reply from Sakshi Verma from above thread does make sense. Looks like our board is template which has also been. But we were allowed to add comments until last week. Like Sakshi says this feature is only available with the Premium plan. Is this features changed recenlty ? We are in Standard plan.

Did like you suggested and it allowed to make comment. So could please provide instruction to copy board with all comments on it. I think that is the only soultion if otherwise do let me know.

Thank you.

Hi @Madhukar Limbu - thank you for your follow-up.

Go to the board menu and select the option "Convert to board". This will disable the Template features and make the comments visible again. Then, if you want a "full copy" of the board including card comments, the best bet is to copy each list individually and move it to a new board.

After that, you could transition the original board back to a Template from within the board menu if you'd like to utilize it as a Template.

@Blair at Atlassian - thank you for your assistance.

I have one question, if we select Convert to board will all the cards have comments on it or we have to copy individually to have comments ?

Thank you.

@Madhukar Limbu Yes, a "normal board" (not a Template) can have comments added, and then when you transition the board to Template, the comments are hidden. When you convert the board from Template back to "normal board", the comments will reappear. You could then copy the lists onto a new board to preserve the comments, and then transition the original board back to a Template if you'd like.
