Cannot add comments to cards, permissions are open

I cannot add comments to cards, and neither can any of my team members. I have checked all permissions, and they are all enabled. I have tried on the mac app, iphone app, and multiple web browsers. Screenshot 2026-01-26 at 10.23.16.pngScreenshot 2026-01-26 at 10.19.26.png

Hi @Malcolm ,Welcome to the community!

I believe I have an idea of what might be causing this issue. Could you please confirm if you’re experiencing this problem on a specific board? I noticed that most of your boards are template boards. On template boards, adding comments is not allowed, as this is a feature available only with the Premium plan.

Could you please check if this issue occurs on all your boards? If you’re experiencing this on all boards, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to raise a ticket to get further assistance for you.

Thanks! I ended up moving all lists to another board that was not a template. Seems to have worked!

@Sakshi Verma we also have similar issue. Like you suggested our board is template board. We were able to add comments up until last week and cannot anymore. We are in Standard Plan and if we switch to Premium Plan will it able to let us make comment as we have many cards on one board.

Hi @Madhukar Limbu It appears to be a bug, as the template board is a premium feature.

Our main account user name is sharonosborne3 and we have 4 members. One being me. Does it matter on whose name ticket to be raised ? Please let me know. If it doesn't matter then it can be raise to my username.

@Sakshi Verma - If we go to Premium Plan will it allow us to make comments ? or to comment on Template has be disabled !!! as just until couple of weeks ago we were able to comment on cards. Please let me know.

I can certainly raise a ticket on your behalf. My apologies for the delayed response—I was out of the office and couldn’t get back to you earlier.

I noticed that user sharonosborne3 currently has a Premium subscription. Could you please let me know if the issue is still persisting? If so, would you mind sharing the board link where you’re unable to add comments? This will help me investigate further and provide the best possible assistance.

@Sakshi Verma Thank you very much for your reply. 

Yes we have a Premium subscription but our board which we are using is Template board. None of us can make any comments. Its been about 3 weeks now. As we have about 1200+ cards most of them are archieved, to make and copy new board with all comments saved might not be feasible, as to save all comments on card to other board we need to copy individually, isn't it?

Please let me know what is the best possible solution.
