Hi,

Our boards are used for managing tasks needed for clients in a non-tech service-based industry. Depending on the service, different task lists are needed, and many tasks are contingent on each other. (E.g. user a needs to complete a task 2 days after user b completes a different task)

We are wanting (1) consistent notifications of due dates set for users and (2) a clear list of outstanding tasks.

I understand it is not possible to be notified of the due dates I set, nor that come from my automations. Email notifications per task are not practicable due to volume so this should be accessible in Trello. Do I need to buy an additional ghost seat and re-do all the automations so the outstanding tasks show up in my notifications?

Second, Is there view to see the list of outstanding tasks for a specific user, across cards? My concern with the “card” view is that it shows all cards being watched and it’s a checklist that clears the entire card, not just the task.

Thanks for any insight!

Hi @Kate Hall

  1. You can be notified of due dates you set so long as you're a member of the card
  2. You can set due date reminders with automation but it is a little complex, luckly I wrote a handy guide you can follow:
    https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Trello-articles/Mikes-Trello-Tips-Set-Due-Reminder-with-Trello-Automation/ba-p/2870787
  3. You can also use @mentions in automations to enable notifications
    1. If it is on a single board, you can use filters to see incomplete cards assigned to a specifc user
    2. You can go to https://trello.com/u/trellousername/cards (also available by clicking the users avatar > View Profile
    3. If you have Premium, you can use workspace table view to see based on users
    4. Also if you have Premium, you can use the Dashcards power-up to create counters of tasks per user. If you open the dashcard you can get a table of cards assigned to them.
