Greetings,
Trying to accomplish a specific function in OpsGenie with Slack integration.
- Each time an incident is created, specific responders are added by default.
- Once the incident is created, and the reporter creates a Slack channel,... I need those responders to get added to that Slack channel automatically.
Whether those responders are independently added automatically, or part of a team that gets added automatically,... the end goal is that --->every time a Slack channel is created from OpsGenie, specific individuals are automatically added to it for notice. Every time.
Let me know whats possible, and if OpsGenie/Slack can be configured in this way.
Regards,
Matthew A Olson
Hey Matthew,
Thanks for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Currently, Opsgenie does not support automatically adding specific responders or individuals to a Slack channelcreated from an incident. When a Slack channel is created for an Opsgenie incident, only the responders who are part of the incident get notified in Slack, but automatic user addition to the Slack channel is not supported.
You can manually add specific individuals to the channel after it’s created.
Alternatively, you could explore using Slack workflows or a custom Slack bot to automatically invite users to the incident channel once it’s created.
Best Regards,
Egor
