How to repeat individual escalation rule?

Abhi Tanwar
June 18, 2024

Our requirements is like this -

if A,B,C,D,E are in rotation schedule, if A doesn't ack alert after notifying 4 times (1 each minute), then we can notify to B, if B doesn't ack after being notified 4 times (1 each minute), then notify C, if C doesn't ack alert after being notified 4 times then inform D and so on.

Will I have to set this up manually for each case or is there a way to setup looping rules or something?

Hi @Abhi Tanwar,

This is Tejaswi from the Opsgenie Team, and I am happy to help.

I understand you wish to notify each user four times before notifying the other on-call users in the rotation. We don’t have a feature native to Opsgenie to achieve this use case. You can manually create an escalation rule with a 5-minute delay for each user, and then, in the user’s profile, you can ask the users to repeat the notification in the notification rules in their profile.

If you don’t want to have your engineers setup the notification profile to repeat, then the only option would be to set each user manually in the escalation rule 5 times each with 1 minute difference

If you have any further queries, Please log a ticket with us at https://support.atlassian.com/contact.

Kind Regards,

Tejaswi
