Can someone please explain the necessary steps to get only P1 (Critical) push notifications that are sent to the Jira Android app to bypass Android's DnD (Do Not Disturb) mode, which my Sleep Mode auto enables each night? I'm on a Samsung S24U.
Rather than guessing, I was looking for a documented How To; but so far, I haven't found it.
There is no "Override DnD" mode option in the notification category/channel.
The "Do not disturb" section in the Jira app didn't seem to jive well w/ the phone's DnD mode. I was testing that or a related setting weeks ago and I remember finding my phone in DnD mode in the middle of the day on a weekend and it was set that way by the Jira App.. so, whatever I did with that setting, or maybe it was another app setting, clearly wasn't the right thing. I had it set to this at the time (image from within the Jira app settings), but have since disabled the 'scheduled notifications' toggle, so it didn't mess with my phone's DnD mode and ruin ALL of my notifications.
While DnD is on, I'll get a silent notification that it's going to override my volume for 15 seconds.. and the P1 pushed alert shows up in the notification list; but no sound is made.
Notification categories (aka channels, I think on non-Samsung Androids) just show this. Note the lack of "override DnD" option. Also, do we have any control over which channel/category these P1's come in on? "New alert" is rather generic and if all alerts are forced in on the same channel/category, then that really limits our power and creativity, doesn't it?
My Sleep mode is scheduled as such. Note, it enables DnD and mutes my Sound mode and volume, too.
Jira app shows things like this:
I have no idea what "Quiet hours" in the Jira app would do. But that seems the opposite of what I desire, so I think I've avoided it.
This was all so easy in the OpsGenie and PagerDuty apps of the past. Just a quick toggle of "Override DnD mode". Where is that in the Jira app now that OpsGenie is integrated into JSM?
Thanks!
