we need the ability to compare defects per story/requirement between different sprints

Currently, any bug raised while testing a story or a requirement is 'linked' against it. Though that helps us trace all defects against a story on an individual level, but we are not able to pull report at summary level.

The need here is to be able to pull the count of defects raised against every requirement/story developed in a project. At the high level, we need the ability to compare defects per story/requirement between different sprints or between different projects to measure team's effectiveness.

Do have any suggestions on the best way to achieve this.

With out-of-the-box Jira, there is no built in way to do this.  If you have some marketplace add-ons or do a CSV export, you can do it.
