Getting we couldn't export your work item error in jira while exporting Excel CSV
Hi @Isha Gupta does this happen with any work item you are exporting? As there are several different workflows to export, could you clarify your specific steps? That would give others a chance to try it out in their systems. I tried exporting a work item from Jira and it exported without issues, which made me wonder if our steps were different.
Have you tried this with a different Jira Work Item? Does it work that way? Have you tried it on another browser or another PC? Do you have a coworker that could try it? Does it work for them?
I took a quick look at Atlassian's Jira Site and nothing jumped out at me.
Hi, Isha Gupta!
Such an error can appear when Jira has problems with processing one or more fields during export. The most common reasons for that include selecting too many work items, fields with unsupported formats (e.g., rich text, complex custom fields, marketplace app fields), and permission restrictions.
You can try to narrow your filter (export fewer work items), remove complex custom fields from the export, or switch from "All fields" to selected fields only. Also, you need to make sure you have all the needed Export permissions for the project.
If you need reliable, structured exports of your work items with their complete change history, I recommend Issue History for Jira (Work Item History) app from the SaaSJet team.
This app allows you to export change reports, including work item status changes, field updates, and comment modifications, in CSV, Excel, or PDF formats. You can export one work item or multiple ones if required.

Hello! The error "Couldn't export your work item" in Jira? Typical offenders include overloaded JQL filters, quirky custom fields, and missing "Export Issues" permissions.
Fast fixes:
In Project Settings > Permissions, check the permissions.
Eliminate complicated attachments and streamline JQL.
Select "Export Excel CSV (all fields)" from Issue Navigator.
Boom, exports are coming in! Still stuck? Send me a screenshot of your JQL, and I'll zap it. @Isha Gupta If this works kindly let me know.
