Hi,
I restored a backup of the Jira software in another server when I start it up everything is good and I can see the dashboard, however, I can't log in,
"Sorry, your username and password are incorrect - please try again."
I tried,
- Jira internal Directory position is 0
- Restarting the Jira
- changing the admin password
and I see the following error in the access_log:
599x41x1 - [18/May/2020:09:59:04 +0000] "POST /rest/gadget/1.0/login HTTP/1.1" 500 23692 99 "http://x.x.x.x:8090/secure/Dashboard.jspa" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/81.0.4044.138 Safari/537.36" "1fn3xfc"
I would appreciate if you can give me a hint here.
This worked for me. I was even able to do it into a docker container.
I hope it fixes you.

This is a known issue. I just responded to another comment about this...you need to manually update the PW in the Database. https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/restore-passwords-to-recover-admin-user-rights-158390.html
Just FYI. I wish I could help as well, but I am in the same boat. Restored and now cannot login . I cannot find where atlassian logs this error.
