What is the Filter om the Summary page used for? and if its to reduce the amount of data displayed on the summary page can component be one of the filters?

It would appear the Filter is limited to those 8 options. I tried searching Components and it's not found.

You could use the filters where the Assignee is a certain person, I guess, if someone is off sick or to check items that are overdue.

I think it just supposed to be a nicer interface for data / information that you could also find in other places.
