"Mention name" should be different

Hi there!

A user has a "mention name", 

which is different when I'm trying to mention him/her in the commentary section. This other mention name is based on the email part (that one which goes before @)

How can I make them identical?

Hi,

The name you could see in user info block is not "mention name" but it's Public name which the user can change in own account.

ok, but where should I change the "mention name" then? Is it even possible?

I'm afraid it's not possible to change username due to GDPR. Atlassian accounts use the email address as the unique identifier and one account is used for any application (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket). Usernames will eventually be phased out in favor of display names. As I understand "mention name" will be removed soon and just Display name will be left.
