"Invalid URL" Assertion Consumer Service URL when setting up Crowd SSO

Jason Bullock September 24, 2025

I would like to use Crowd as my IdP and sett up SSO for my atlassian applications. I have setup the authentication method in Jira ( Security > Authentication Methods ) and take the ACS URL it provides and place it in the application link that is established in Crowd for Jira, and when placing the ACS URL in the SSO tab it tells me it is invalid.

I assume that I cannot test the authentication method on the Jira side because the SSO setting have not been fully enabled due to the "Invalid URL"

If anyone has had experience setting up Crowd Data Center and SSO with Atlassian Data Center plugin your insights are welcomed.

Hi @Jason Bullock ,

in order to setup SSO between your applications, you need just to setup Crowd as user directory in JIRA, Confluence and so on and then enable SSO at application level

  • JIRA -> Edit JIRA-INST/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/seraph-config.xml
  • CONFLUENCE -> CONFLUENCE-INST/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/seraph-config.xml

For more detailed how-to guide please take a look to the following guide https://confluence.atlassian.com/crowd/crowd-sso-2-0-967322291.html

Hope this helps,

Fabio
