"Disable" assign notification when Automation assigns

Hi y'all

Ok, so here is the scenario:

• Jira Software
• Cloud
• No plugins
• Software classic project

Objective is to auto assign issues to the reporter without sending email.

I am using the built in Automation on Issue Create to do this. Only trouble is that Automation triggers the Notification Scheme in that Jira classic project and the Reporter gets an email. 

Any ideas of a work around?

Two options to try. 

1. disable notifications for the create event altogether and add a post function to set assignee to reporter. 
2. Add post function as in 1 but place after the generic event. TBH I have never tried this

Sweet @Jack Brickey  #2 works (i.e. using a post function instead of Automation) with the create event notification still in-tack. I was so hung up on that assign to reporter was an add on feature that I didn't look and went straight for the Automation :/  Thank you!
